There is no better way to explore Malaga city than by bike. With the construction of bike paths around the city, green parks to cycle through, the relaxed beach atmospheres to cycle alongside; cycling in and around Malaga provides a great way to enjoy this beautiful city. We are ideally located for Electric Bike Rental Malaga
A Smooth Start
Our bike rental hub in Calle Barroso is located in the Soho district of Malaga. It is 100 meters from the priority cycle lane on the road and the bike path on the promenade. Both provide safe and picturesque cycle routes in and around Malaga city. You can both cycle along the coast on an e-bike with the view of the Alboran Sea or make your way into the city and explore the neighbourhood of Miraflores or climb the Montes de Malaga.
Cycle along the cost to the Port and Bullring
Our new Electric Urban Bikes makes cycling effortless, even for the most unexperienced cyclist. Take the bike path along the promenade where you can enjoy cycling besides palm trees and beach bars. The bike lane continues toward the famous Malaga Port and Muelle Uno. This is a lively area with cafes, shops, and vibrant outdoor spaces. It is the perfect place to take a break or take a photo of the stunning harbour with its various luxury’s liners and speed boats.
After a stop in the harbour, you can cycle towards the city to see the historic Plaza de Toros de la Malagueta, one of the most famous landmarks of the city. The bullring, built in 1876, is a piece of architecture and an iconic landmark in Malaga’s city which represents one of its great traditions. Cycle around the bull ring and take in its beautiful stone facade.
Fuente de la Reina: A Hidden Gem
Another route of choice from the city of Malaga is the climb to the “Queens Fountain” Fuente de la Reina. However, it is not an easy climb with gradients of up to 14% but you are rewarded with absolutely spectacular views of the coast and the city of Malaga. As you zig-zag your way up the mountain road the city and the harbour becomes more and more distant on one side of the climb, with the greenery and mountains of Malaga more apparent on the other. Fuente de la Reina is typically avoided by mass tourism, so it is the perfect route for those wishing to see a more peaceful side of Malaga
The ‘official’ start of the route to La Reina is at Olletas Fountain. (Fuente Olletas). Head north from the City Centre up Calle Victoria. Then turn left onto Calle Cristo de la Epidemia. Then, take Camino Colmenar and just keep climbing!
Going to the Botanical Gardens
The Botanical Gardens (Jardín Botánico La Concepción) is a 7 km bike ride from the city centre. The route can be mainly achieved on the cycle paths. After the Botanical gardens the spectacular Limonero Dam is a must visit too . These routes can be achieved on all the bikes that you can rent from Cycle Malaga but the Electric Bikes make it more fun!
From our bike rental hub in Calle Barroso 20 you can take the official bike path to EL Corte Inglés, this is Spain’s most famous department store chain. Then make your way to the La Rosaleda Malaga F.C. Stadium then onto to the Polideportivo Ciudad Jardín. At this point, the bike path ends so you need to continue north for a short while longer, turning right at the petrol station, left at the following roundabout then cycling until you see a tunnel. Once through the tunnel you turn left into the Botanical Gardens. To go onto the Limonero Dam you need to turn right. The Botanical Gardens is a true paradise for nature lovers. Once you arrive at the gardens you will be surrounded by over 3,000 species of plants, including tropical and subtropical flora. The gardens are filled with greenery, waterfalls, and winding paths and are a tranquil oasis away from the city of Malaga. A 1 km ride from the Botanical Gardens is the Limonero Dam. Built in 1983, it is the main supplier of water to the city of Malaga. Here you can enjoy spectacular views over Malaga, the Botanical gardens and the Montes of Malaga.
